On day two, the fish became even more scarce, but the PERSISTENT TEAM was able to hold on to win the U.S. Nationals spearfishing Championship Mixed Team Division. With an impressive catch of the very sought after Yellow jack species , Team PERSISTENT made their place in nationals History having Rosibel Molina Crowned the Womens National Champion. The Persistent Team rejoiced in their victory, receiving beautiful trophies and invitations to fish around the world.

After free diving and becoming acquainted with the new fins, it was time to catch some fish!  Pipin Ferreras allowed all of the divers to use the new Sniper low volume mask.  This mask has the highest level of visibility ever seen in a low volume mask. It gives the diver an almost panoramic view in the direction they are looking. This was priory thought to be an impossible attribute to a low volume mask.  The team arrived at a ship wreck in 105 ft of water.  The divers were amazed by how much more visibility the Sniper HD mask provided. This resulted in Tata Lanzas immediately spotting a 55 pound black grouper using his peripheral vision. Once Tata Lanzas took the shot, the large grouper immediately wedged him self in a hard to reach compartment of the ship wreck.  It took them almost 1 hour to retrieve this grouper in 105 ft of water!  Even Pipin made several dives in trying to bring the captured prey to the surface.  He admitted that if it was not for the additional bottom time and thrust that the Cheetah Pelagic Carbon Fiber fins offered, the team would have had no choice but to cut spear line and lose the beautiful grouper.
